Cold rolled steel, as the name suggests, is a flat steel product obtained by re-rolling (passing through rollers) hot rolled and acid-pickled (HRP) steel at room temperature. It is designed to deliver the expected performance even in the most demanding applications, from automotive to white goods.

How is it Produced?

  • Thickness Reduction: Rolling at room temperature allows for much more precise thinning of the steel's thickness.
  • Surface Quality Enhancement: Cold rolling eliminates imperfections left from hot rolling, creating a bright and homogeneous surface.
  • Annealing: To remove the hardness formed after rolling and restore formability, the sheet is annealed in a controlled atmosphere.
  • Final Finishing (Temper Pass): A light reduction is applied to finalize surface smoothness and optimize mechanical properties.

Surface Protection (Oiling) and Standards
Oiling Rates

Due to surface sensitivity, protecting cold rolled products against corrosion is critical. Products stored under standard conditions carry a 6-month corrosion warranty.

  • Normal Oiling (Standard): 1200 mg/m²
  • Light Oiling: 800 mg/m²
  • Heavy Oiling (On Request): 2000 mg/m²
Grades and Standards

A-surface quality according to EN 10130 is standard. B-surface quality can be requested for precision applications.

  • Cold Forming (EN 10130): DC01, DC03, DC04, DC05, DC06 (In increasing order of deep-drawability)
