GALVANIZED STEEL (HDG)

Superior and Long-Lasting Corrosion Protection

Galvanized steel (HDG - Hot-Dip Galvanized), the most effective line of defense against demanding atmospheric conditions, humidity, and the passage of time, combines the raw power of steel with the protective armor of zinc. It has become a symbol of longevity and durability in countless sectors, from construction to automotive, white goods to agriculture.

Galvanized steel is a flat steel product whose surface is coated with zinc by immersing cold-rolled or full-hard steel coils into a molten zinc bath. At CHY Steel Service, under the umbrella of Oz Metal Group, we create a metallurgical bond between steel and zinc through this "hot-dip galvanizing" process, providing this strategic material at the highest quality standards for your project needs.

How is it Produced?
Hot-Dip Galvanizing (HDG) Steps

The process that makes the coating extremely resistant to impact and abrasion consists of the following steps:

  • Surface Cleaning: The steel coil is first degreased to remove oil and dirt, then passed through acid baths to completely clean the oxide layer from the surface.
  • Annealing: The steel is heated in a controlled furnace to achieve the desired mechanical properties (softness, formability).
  • Zinc Bath Immersion: The heated steel is passed through a kettle filled with molten zinc. The zinc adheres to the steel surface, forming protective alloy layers.
  • Cooling and Finishing: After the coating thickness is adjusted using air knives, the steel is cooled. Passivation or oiling is applied based on requirements.
How is Galvanized Steel
Enhanced at CHY?

Precision Slitting: We deliver slitted coils in the precise widths required by your production line, with minimum burr.
Cut-to-Length: We prepare galvanized sheets in your requested dimensions with perfect flatness and burr-free edges.
HIGHLIGHTED FEATURES

The Unique Advantages of Galvanized Steel

01
Superior Corrosion Resistance

Zinc acts as a "sacrificial anode," creating a physical barrier that protects the underlying steel from rusting even if the coating is scratched.

02
Longevity and Low Cost

Provides decades of protection for steel even in the harshest environments. It eliminates maintenance and replacement costs in the long term.

03
Full Comprehensive Protection

The immersion method ensures that every point of the sheet, including corners, edges, and mounting holes, is coated homogeneously and equally.
